We introduce you as we begin our show. You can mention your background, any projects you’d like to promote, and how people can find out more about you.
You then regale the audience with a memorable tale of your time in Nashville. This can be prompted by you asking the audience a simple question like, “What’s been on your mind lately?” or “What’s something you’d like to ask me?” Alternatively, you can think up a story in advance, but don’t tell us about it before showtime! The idea is that your story will inspire our improvisation, and we want it to be in the moment.
We do a few improvised scenes. Based on what comes into our minds while listening to your story, we’ll play off the ideas, themes, and notable characters in your story.
We repeat this back-and-forth a couple more times. You’ll tell another couple stories, and we then use them as inspiration for our improv. Your follow-up stories can be something that popped into your head while watching us perform, or perhaps something entirely unrelated.
If we do our job right, the themes and characters we’ve been exploring will come crashing together into something magical!
Lastly, if you have anything else you’d like to share about your work or passions at the end of the show, we’d love to have you do so! If you’re a singer/songwriter and want to perform an acoustic song at the end, we can make it happen! If this sounds good to you, please get in touch with us at info@TalesFromMusicCity.com or by using the form below.
